Cause night blindness

The retina in the inner part of the eye consists of two types of cells. Some cells are rod-shaped and some are cone-shaped. The color particles in these cells are sensitive to light.

A substance called rhodopsin is found in these rod cells, which is a conjugate protein, which is made up of a protein called opsin and an aprotein element called retinal.

Rhodopsin decomposes as light for a long time, as a colorless substance in the form of retinal and opacin, but rhodopsin is quickly formed when light comes into darkness and the creation becomes normal in less than a moment.

The retinal involved in the above process is a type of vitamin A, so if there is a deficiency of vitamin A, rhodopsin cannot be produced and is not visible when light comes in the dark or in low light. This condition is called night blindness.

Cause of disease
According to modern experts, the cause of night blindness is the lack of vitamin 'A'. Often, people with malnutrition are vulnerable. According to Ayurveda physicians, night blindness is born due to Kapha dosha.

They say that the phlegm deposited on the eyes gets cleared due to the effect of the sun during the day, which causes the patient to see during the day. But at night, phlegm again comes in the pupil of the eye and the patient stops seeing.

However, according to the old texts of Ayurveda, there are two types of night blindness - one in which phlegm begins to decay and the other one in which phlegm begins to grow. Malnutrition is believed to be the cause of the first type of night blindness. Generally, night blindness due to malnutrition is seen.
